Dr. Baldwin received her B.S.N. from West Texas A&M University in 1996, M.S.N. from Florida Atlantic University in 2006, and Ed.D. with concentration in Health Care Education and Adult Education from Nova Southeastern University in 2017. Her dissertation investigated the practices for developing critical thinking processes in beginning nursing students.

Dr. Baldwin has been a registered nurse since 1996 with experience in both the adult and pediatric critical care settings with specialty in the cardiovascular and neurovascular surgical areas. She began her teaching career in 2004 and started teaching at NSU in July 2009. She has taught at all levels of nursing education and online. She currently serves as the Coordinator of Clinical Services for the Fort Myers campus.

Dr. Baldwin is a certified nurse educator. She is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and serves as the Upsilon Chi Chapter’s Counselor. Other active memberships that she is involved include Florida Nurses Association (FNA), American Nurses Association (ANA), International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), and the Society for Simulation in Health care (SSH).

Dr. Baldwin’s research interests are varied and include clinical development, simulation, critical thinking, and education for transforming nurses to nurse educators. She has presented at multiple conferences from the local level to international level on various topics related to nursing and nursing education.
