Dr. Bittner has been teaching and mentoring nursing, medical, and allied health students for many years. Before NSU, she taught online classes for nurse practitioners.

Dr. Bittner’s clinical specialization is emergency medicine. She is also interested in functional medicine and how people can take an active part in staying well. She has been a nurse practitioner in multiple emergency departments in Dade and Palm Beach county since 1995 and feels there is an opportunity to learn and grow in this specialty.

Her research interest is diversified and related to nurse practitioners in the emergency department as well as the lack of dental care in the ED.
