Dr. Paul Victor comes to NSU with 27 years of international experience in nursing education, practice, and leadership. She completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Christian Medical College (CMC), India. CMC is the largest research and teaching institution in Asia. Her graduate degree focus is on Public Health and Midwifery. After completing her master’s degree, sponsored by WHO (World Health Organization), she went to Nepal to start a Public Health Nursing program emphasizing Domiciliary Midwifery (Training Midwives in resource-poor settings). During her midwifery practice, she delivered more than 300 births and trained midwifery students to serve in socially and economically disadvantaged women.

Dr. Paul Victor was one of the four nurses selected from Asia to receive SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency) grant to complete her Post Master’s certification in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights from Uppsala University, Sweden. Her Ph.D. focus is on Nursing Education, Practice, and Research. Her doctoral dissertation on “Faith-based recovery process and Substance Use Disorder” received international recognition for podium presentation at 28th Sigma Theta Tau International Research Congress, Dublin, Ireland. She also conducted many research studies in HIV/AIDS and health-seeking behavior, culture and reproductive health, health-seeking behavior of high-risk populations (prisoners, sex workers, tribal population). Her research work was presented on various global conferences in Sweden, Switzerland, South Africa, Spain, and Thailand.

Dr. Paul Victor also holds a degree in alternative medicine. She is a research council member for American Holistic Nurses Association. She is a member of the editorial board for Journal of Continuing Education. She is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Professional Nursing, and International Journal of Nursing Research and Midwifery. Dr. Paul Victor is an ambassador for National League for Nurses and an accreditation site visitor for NLN-CNEA.
