Dr. Segura is the program director for the adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner
program. He has served as an adjunct, full-time faculty, and assisted in overseeing the family nurse practitioner and BSN to DNP programs. He had taught most courses in the
adultgerontology acute care nurse practitioner and family nurse practice programs NSU.

Dr. Segura’s specializes in adult acute and in surgical procedures.

His research interest is primarily related to the prevention of surgical site infection in acute
settings. Dr. Segura has presented the results of evidence-based practice projects at
professional research conferences.
