Dr. Gesulla Cavanaugh received her Ph.D. in higher education leadership and research methodology from Florida Atlantic University. Prior to this degree, she obtained a M.S. in Big Data Analytics and a M.P.H. in epidemiology with concentration on biostatistics and population health from Loma Linda University. Dr. Cavanaugh’s research focus is on using big data analytics to analyze genomic data, health information, and public health data. With respect to big data analytics, her approach is to employ a methodological research trajectory in order to identify the ideal statistical tests to analyze various data.

Her research interest also includes student success and student productivity. In this regard, her goal is to continue to identify factors that contribute to student academic success and productivity during and after enrollment. Dr. Cavanaugh has been teaching and advising in higher education for more than 10 years; her main teaching concentration include biostatistics, health care group management, and epidemiology for health care professionals in the United States and in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, she has taught various nursing-related courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in different higher education institutions.
