Dr. Soontupe is an Associate Professor in the College of Nursing at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Soontupe earned a Bachelor of Science degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center College of Nursing, Master of Arts degree with a major in Nursing Education from New York University, and Doctor of Education degree from Nova Southeastern University Fischler College of Education with a focus in higher education leadership.
Dr. Soontupe has held both clinical nursing positions and positions in academia throughout her career. Her clinical experience has been in various areas of adult health nursing with a specialization in nephrology nursing. Her experience in nursing education includes teaching in undergraduate baccalaureate and associate degree nursing programs.
Dr. Soontupe joined the faculty at NSU in 2004 and has played an integral role in developing the Entry B.S.N. curriculum and teaching courses in this program over the past 14 years. Dr. Soontupe has held the rank of associate with primary teaching responsibilities in the entry BSN program.
In addition to her teaching and clinical coordination responsibilities, Dr. Soontupe serves on various committees within the College of Nursing, in the Health Professions division, and at the University level. She is a member of the College of Health Care Sciences Center for Academic and Professional Excellence (CAPE) Executive Council.
Dr. Soontupe has received certification from the National League of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Educator (C.N.E.). She is a licensed Registered Nurse (R.N.) in the state of Florida. In 2012, Dr. Soontupe completed the College of Health Care Sciences Leadership and Management Academy. In 2014, Dr. Soontupe was awarded Professor of the Year for the College of Nursing.
